What accessories do you need?
One of the first doubts we have when we become dog owners for the first time, is if we have everything that the dog is going to need, and also to know what it is exactly that the dog is going to require.

We want our new best friend to be happy in its new home, and that it feels like a member of the family, as well as that it grows up safe and sound. You will certainly have already thought about this accessory. For this, what are going to advise you, rather than just about the type of bed, is, principally, about where to put it. Dogs need a comfortable and quiet bed. You will not be able to rest in a place where people are constantly passing, right? Well, nor our friend. It is a very common error that many commit, but which does not benefit the dog at all.

We must try to get the bed in a quiet place in the house, away from the zones with the most household movement. This is because the bed does not only provide the dog with a place to sleep. There will be times when our pet will want to be alone and to disconnect a bit. For this, it will need a little corner of its own.

If the dog is going to be located in the garden, we must put the bed in a place reserved for it, in which it can shelter from the cold, the rain, or any other meteorological inclemency. The best thing in these cases is to acquire a kennel. This kennel must be of a sufficient size for the dog to be able to move in without problems, and to feel comfortable. Bear in mind that this will be its place of refuge and rest.

Accessories for feeding the dog
When feeding, the dog will need a dish for food, and another for drink. These accessories, just as with the bed, must be placed in a quiet place separate from the zones of most activity. One of the reasons for this is that the dog might mess around if it sees people, and will not feed correctly. Another motive is that many dogs can feel uncomfortable (and even bite people) if they think that someone is going to take their food away.

Besides location, we must make sure that the size and material of these dishes is appropriate for the dog’s characteristics.

Accessories so that the dog plays
Or, in other words, toys. It could be that a priori they do not seem really essential to you, but watch out: they are. Toys are a very good entertainment for the dog which help it, amongst other things, to burn off energy and to avoid feeling idle. Moreover, puppies love to chew, to bite things… and nothing is better than their toys for this. It is always better that the dog bites its toys rather than the sofa, your slippers, the pillows… or anything else within reach!

To accustom the dog to playing with its toys is highly recommendable. Above all for when you are out of the house. This way you will not find everything chewed up when you return.
